We got our start as Discount Sign Co. in 1983 hand painting signs. We were among the first to adopt computer automation in the late 80’s, and over the years we evolved into a full service sign company providing wrap-around services for all industries.

20 years later we’d become Reid Signs, and a primary vendor for Gap and Old Navy as well as began providing Flagship Store decor build-outs. This expanded quickly to include Microsoft X-Box, Neiman Marcus and retail shopping centers. We rode that wave for a long time, then decided we wanted to scale down, not up. Doing this type of work was great, but it was very administratively heavy. So we made our company smaller and kept working in emergent technology sectors. We dedicated our shop and expertise to building what tech firms, architects and other design departments with great ideas wanted, but had nobody to build them.

Scaling down allowed us to stay in the shop and focus on innovation and new production methods. This resulted in Reid Signs being involved in a lot of “firsts”—technology few people had seen yet—and we had a hand in building, and sometimes even designing components of it.
